Bulk Chocolate Gifts: How to Order for a Team or Client List

Sending chocolate gifts to a whole list of people takes one spreadsheet. Give each person a row with their shipping address, the gift you've picked for them, and a message of up to 200 characters, then email it to us. We check every address, pack each box with its own note, and ship it to its own door. An order without logo tags can ship in 2 to 3 days; with them, allow a week.

If you call us on December 10 with eighty names and ask whether it's too late, you'll get the same answer you'd get in October: we can do it. What changes in December is the shipping, and that's covered below. First, the list.

One customer sends our bees to the office that does their taxes. Their review ends: "We will use these bees as a thank you every year. The whole office enjoyed and you guys were a hit!" That's what the list is for: every box on the right desk with the right note. The steps below get you there with the least typing and the fewest phone calls.

What goes on the spreadsheet

The order form is an Excel file, and it works for 2 addresses or 2,000. Each row asks for the recipient's name, their shipping address, the gift you've picked for them and how many, the date you'd like it to ship, and the message you'd like inside.

No two rows have to match. You can send figs to your clients and bees to your team on the same order, and the note to your biggest client doesn't have to read like the note to your bookkeeper. Each message is up to 200 characters, and it prints with that recipient's packing slip, so each note travels with its own box.

From your list to their door, in five steps

  1. Choose the gifts. Start with our business best sellers page; the prices are listed there. For help matching gifts to people and budgets, see our corporate chocolate gifts guide.
  2. Download the form and give everyone a row. The form is on our large-order spreadsheet page. One person per row: name, full street address with the suite or apartment number (no PO boxes), the gift, and the message.
  3. Read it once more before you send it. Some lists reach us exactly as they went out last year, and then the client calls with an "oops." We can fix it, but it's easier for everyone if you give the list one more read at your desk first: anyone who's moved, joined, or left since last December, and any address that was a guess.
  4. Save it and email it. Save the file with your company's name in place of "TEMPLATE" and send it to business@johnandkiras.com with the subject "New Large Order From" and your company's name. We'll call you to take payment over the phone, and you'll get confirmation when the order is placed and another when it ships.
  5. We take it from there. Before we pack anything, we go through the list address by address. The two mistakes we catch most often are wrong ZIP codes and missing suite or apartment numbers. When something doesn't look right, we call you.

One customer described what that looks like from the other end:

"I got a call on a Saturday to confirm a zip code. The nice lady said there were several zip codes coming up for the city, and she just wanted to make sure they got there without a delay."

If something looks wrong, call

We once had a call from a customer who said we'd sent her gift to her by mistake. We looked it up. Her gift had gone to the right person. The box on her table was from someone else, who had sent her one too.

Most problems are like that one: a phone call and a minute of checking. If a box on your order does go astray and the mistake is ours, we reship it or refund it. Here's how one customer described the service: "I tend to be particular about what I want from my online orders and J&K's has always come through to meet my requests and exceed my expectations."

How long does a bulk order take?

  • A list without logo tags can ship in as little as 2 to 3 days. Allow up to 5 business days.
  • A list with a Boutique Tag or Logo Card needs one week before it ships. The tags, the cards and what they cost are explained in our corporate chocolate gifts guide.
  • Delivery takes 2 to 8 days once a box leaves us, with ice packs and insulation inside when the weather is warm.
  • In December, order gifts with a custom tag by December 11, and gifts with standard shipping by December 15. After that, we take orders up to Christmas with express shipping: Express Saver until December 21, and Overnight until December 22.

If your list is ready by November 1, the order earns a volume discount. The tiers are in the guide.

For a short list

For fewer than 15 addresses, ordering on the website is faster, and you can upload your logo at checkout. For more than 15, use the spreadsheet, or call us at 1.800.747.4808 and press 3 for Corporate Gifts.

Questions we're asked about bulk orders

Can everyone on the list get a different gift?

Yes. Each row of the order form has its own gift, so one order can carry figs for your clients and bees for your team.

Can each person get a different message?

Yes. Each message is up to 200 characters and prints with that recipient's packing slip, so it travels with the right box.

How fast can a bulk order ship?

Without custom tags, sometimes in 2 to 3 days; allow up to 5 business days. With a Boutique Tag or Logo Card, allow one week. Delivery takes 2 to 8 days after shipping.

What does shipping cost when the boxes go to different addresses?

A flat $15.95 or $19.95 for each address, depending on where it's going. The rate is the same no matter what's in the box.

What if an address on my list is wrong?

We check every address before packing and call you about anything that looks off, most often a ZIP code or a missing suite number. If a box still goes astray, call us. If the mistake is ours, we reship it or refund it.

Can you ship business gifts to hundreds of clients at different addresses?

Yes. That's what the spreadsheet is for: one row per client, each box to its own address with its own message, from 2 addresses to more than 2,000. We check every address before anything ships.

Is there a minimum for a spreadsheet order?

No. The form works for 2 addresses or more than 2,000.
