MORE THAN CHOCOLATE
A STORY OF CONNECTION, CRAFT, AND COMMUNITY SINCE 2002.
A LOVE STORY, HANDCRAFTED
Our story began in Philadelphia with two people - John and Kira who shared a passion for food, creativity, and connection. What started as a partnership in life soon became a shared vision: to create chocolates that felt as thoughtful as they tasted.
In 2002, working from a small kitchen with just a handful of recipes and a whole lot of heart, they launched John & Kira's. Their goal was simple -- to make something honest, beautiful, and delicious.
The very first batches were wrapped by hand, delivered with handwritten notes, and shared with friends and neighbors. People responded not only to the flavor but to the feeling -- the care behind every detail.
And that feeling continues to guide us today.

MEET THE CHEF: ANGELA STICCO
HEAD CHOCOLATIER & CREATIVE FORCE BEHIND THE FLAVORS
For over a decade, Angela Sticco has been the creative heart of our kitchen. As Head Chocolatier, she leads recipe development, product innovation, and the subtle magic that goes into every piece we craft.
Angela's journey began at The Restaurant School in Philadelphia, but it truly came to life abroad -- first in a bakery in Chartres, France, and later while working in Sicily with an artisanal food exporter. Her travels shaped her perspective, inspired her palate, and gave her a deep respect for tradition and technique.
Since joining John & Kira's in 2010, she's expanded our product line by nearly 70%, visited cacao farms in Central America, and collaborated with some of the world's best pastry chefs. In 2019, she was inducted into the Philadelphia Chapter of Les Dames d'Escoffier -- a recognition of her leadership and excellence in the culinary arts.
ANGELA IN HER
OWN WORDS
"The artistry of it all. I love that in working with chocolate everything needs to be very precise, but there are still many ways to express creativity."
